Office of the Legislative Auditor

658 Cedar Street, Room 140
Saint Paul, MN 55155

The Office of the Legislative Auditor (OLA) is a highly respected, professional, nonpartisan office within Minnesota’s legislative branch. The office’s principal goal is to produce accurate, objective, timely, and useful reports that strengthen accountability and promote good management in government.

The office’s Financial Audit Division generally audits 1) the financial statements for the State of Minnesota, the state’s large pension plans, and the Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority; 2) state agencies’ internal controls and legal compliance; 3) information technology security; and 4) allegations of financial wrong-doing. Most auditors are CPAs, and many also have other certifications.

The office has designed the Government Auditors Program to guide new auditors through their first 12 months with OLA. The program bridges the gap between what you know and what you need to know to succeed in this unique and challenging career. Stop by our booth and pick up a brochure!
